About
Steak Appreciation Society was founded in 2008 by Christopher Mair. Inspired by the early steak clubs of the 18th century, such as the infamous Sublime Society of the Beef Steak, S.A.S was formed to bring together people with a shared passion for quality steak and quality company. We meet twice annually at different location every time. We have a capped membership of 24 and a strict entrance policy.
Hi! After visiting your blog, I really feel the urge to cook up some nice Beef Wellington this saturday. I know it’s short notice – but do you happen to have the recipe for the Wellington on your blog laying around? I can always google it – but so far – the most appetizing photos of it, are the ones I found on your site.
Thanks in advance!
Anders
Sweden.
Hi again. I keep checking in from time to time, but judging from the updates I must say that you are eating way too little beef
I’m taking a sweet food/wine/decadence weekend in London in about a month. I don’t know if there is where you live, but I figured that maybe you had some ideas on where we (my brothers in law and my dad) could find a good meat/steak restaurant? And I know London probably has hundreds of grade A places – but a point in the right direction from a fellow meatlover as yourself would be much appreciated.
And yes, we will all be growing moustaches for this trip!
Hope to see some updates soon!

Hello from the USA! Glad I found this site. We are a cooking team that competes mostly in steak cook-offs. IN the past two years we have been ranked in the top 5 in the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STEAK COOK-OFF. This is held each year in Magnolia, Arkansas. About 5000 Rib-Eye staeks are cooked in about 2 hours. One steak per team is turned in to the judges. It has to be done MEDIUM. Lots of fun! Check it out at http://www.blossomfestival.org. Yall load up and come for a visit! Wish I could join the SAS, but I doubt I could be present for the meetings!
