RULES & ORDERS

  1. Brethren may not miss either the summer or winter meeting under any circumstance
  2. 3 months notice will be given to members of the date for the next dinner. A member may opt out of attending that dinner provided notice is given at least 1 week prior to the dinner.  A  member who fails to attend without giving the requisite notice will be required to give reasons for their non attendance. The other members of the SAS will vote as to whether (i) that member should be expelled (ii) that member should be punished (iii) the reasons given are acceptable.
  3. Never beyond our walls should a member carry words uttered here in friendship’s confidence
  4. Brethren must adhere to the dress code set out prior to meetings
  5. Members must pay a sum to be agreed, as subs, contributing to financing of the society. Amount currently set at £20 per month
  6. Members must carry around their SAS membership cards at all times (note: memberships cards to be provided by the Chairman before Winter meeting)
  7. Members must wear the agreed society attire at all official society meetings (note: agreed that club tie be sourced with Cow hide print and horn motif. President undertakes to source)
  8. The last person arriving to each meeting must wear the ʻSpussyʼ hat for the duration of the evening – Hat to represent both component parts of “Spussy”i.e. Pink with rugy/cricket ball inserted (note: Chairman / President to source)
  9. Any person not finishing their steak must adopt a cow via Farm Animal Rescue. – Already enforced against C Fraser
  10. Anybody mentioning the word France will, for the remainder of the evening, drink their wine through a straw and keep a cocktail umbrella in their wineglass. Failure to do so will be punishable by drinking 4 shots of crème de menthe
  11. Members must obtain through negotiation, barter, deception or illicit means a free meat based gift from a victualier of distinction for a specific month as chosen by lottery (Penalty: One lap of the mall in white cotton M&S boxer shorts whistling the “La Marseillaise”) member to be chosen at end of each meeting
  12. Members will be recognised by their peers as true ‘Men of Meat’ for the subtle and covert use of our tag line “Beef & Liberty” when signing off everyday correspondence to each other using facsimile,morse code, electronic mail or random discourse
